SmartFlow
Low Flow Indicators
Designed for use in extremely low-flow applications in critical mold cooling channels such as those with bubblers or baffles.
About Low Flow Indicators
Injection molds with extremely small cooling paths such as bubblers or baffles are susceptible to blockage by impurities in injection mold cooling water. Without coolant flow, heat may build up inside the mold causing hot spots and imperfect molded parts.
Low Flow Indicators confirm the presence of flow in critical restricted passages.
Low Flow Indicators help prevent molded part defects by indicating blocked cooling water circuits.
Smartflow Low Flow Indicators display the existence of flow at less than 1 GPM, below the flow range of many flow meters.
Common Questions About Low Flow Indicators
Low Flow Indicators have a visible rotor that spins between 0.3 and 4 Liters per minute (0.08 to 1 Gallon per minute). At flow rates above this, we recommend a conventional mechanical flow meter or a Tracer Electronic Flow Meter.
Temperature gauges, pressure gauges, and flow regulators can be added to the standard temperature flow indicators.
There is no option to add gauges to the high temperature indicators.
1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ NPT or BSPP are available in the standard temperature version.
High temperature unit is only available in 3/8″NPT or BSPP.
